In keeping with the rest of the Extrem range, all of the new products are available in men’s and women’s specific versions.

Like its namesake jacket, the Vanguard GTX pant is made out of waterproof, breathable and durable 3L GORE-TEX ePE fabric. Highly effective pattern cutting includes articulated knees and a diamond gusset at the crotch, allowing for unrestricted movement during even the most challenging pitches. Fully separating side zips and stud adjustment at the lower legs adds versatility, for use during both mountaineering and ski touring, with the pant cut to be worn over a ski boot, while excess fabric can be cinched down when wearing mountaineering boots.
Other key features on the Vanguard GTX pant include: Full elasticated rear waistband for a better custom fit and enhanced comfort; two thigh pockets with water resistant zips for easy access to essentials when wearing a harness; durable kicker patch at inner hem for added durability; attachment points for braces to customise fit. Combined, the Berghaus Vanguard GTX jacket and pant provide a highly effective shell uniform for winter mountain adventures.
MTN Guide 45+ (£240) and 32+ (£190)
The new Berghaus MTN Guide packs have been engineered to deliver all of the features and performance required for extended use, all year round, in all disciplines. The main bag in each pack is made out of extremely durable and water resistant materials, and all other components are hardwearing, and designed for the harshest conditions.
The MTN Guide 45+ and MTN Guide 32+ are fully modular packs, with removable lids and internal bivis that allow the capacity to be increased for longer days and nights in the mountains. There are multiple options for stripping each pack, adapting to a user’s specific needs by removing numerous features: Hip belt webbing and padding; lid and lid closure; side compression straps; helmet holder; sternum strap; backboard; frame; aluminium stays.
Each MTN Guide bag is made out of TPU coated 420D ripstop nylon, which offers exceptional water and abrasion resistance. A new breathable ‘hypercushion’ back panel incorporates a 10mm spacer mesh, covered with hardwearing monomesh flat nylon to offer moisture management, padding and abrasion resistance without the risk of snow build-up. Ocean recycled 210d nylon Seawastex fabric on the shoulder straps and bivi add durability and water resistance. When the lid has been removed from a MTN Guide pack, the offset aperture on the bivi closure system enhances weather protection.
The MTN Guides incorporate an updated Berghaus pack silhouette that provides excellent stability and load carry comfort. The top load opening with cinch bivi closure and zip opening at the back system, combine to provide easy, quick access to the bag. The packs have reinforced attachment points for carrying skis and ice axes. The women’s MTN Guides feature a pack shape and harness that have been updated to a female specific design, to improve load transfer, stability and comfort.
The new Berghaus Vanguard and MTN Guide products join down, synthetic, midlayer and next to skin styles, to complete the autumn/winter 2025 Extrem collection. The full range is available now at www.berghaus.com and from selected specialist outdoor retailers.
